I SEE CUTE PEOPLE

so life isn’t just about the juice fast. here is what we have been up to for the past couple days.

new/old obsession: I have been picking up the old ax and playing. a lot. for the first time in years. I taught myself to play guitar (somewhat, people. I am no Rodrigo y Gabriela) at the age of 15 after I saw Jewel’s ‘you were meant for me’ on Mtv. I don’t think I was the only one, but when I decide I want to do something I go full boar for a little while and then get tired of it quickly. but not guitar. guitar stayed for a long while. this was my life for a couple years: go to school. come home. play guitar. eat dinner. play guitar. sleep. REPEAT.

Mila wanted princess hair so I twisted it around a bit and viola! she loved it. so easy to please a 3 year old. it was even such a big deal that it was given it’s own name: cinderella hair. but I have to tell you something about Mila… there are two things that she really loves: the color pink and giraffes. loving the color pink is sort of mandatory for little girls but the giraffes are a bit random. so imagine our instant glee when we saw the below scarf for sale at target. it was like the heavens aligned and squeezed out a little piece of mila. it had to come home with us and come home with us it did.

…and Malcolm. well, he’s just a lot of energy and a lot of fun. but also a lot of CUTENESS. i have evidence to prove this accusation. I mean, did ya SEE those eyelashes? we should all be so lucky.

…AND I FEEL FINE.

it’s not the end of the world as we know it, but I do feel fine! it’s day 6 of the juice fast and, other than a teensy tiny bit of malcolm’s left over grilled cheese last night (grilled cheese is one of the most decedent foods known to man. are your with me people?) , I have been completely free of solid foods. I haven’t felt this good in awhile. of course, I have extraordinary reasons for doing this fast and feeling better on it than not on it, but I won’t get into that now. stick around awhile and maybe one day I will divulge.

so how much juice am I drinking? the first 4 days I was having about 6 16oz glasses a day. That’s a lot of juice, people. day two we went on a quick road trip. I didn’t bring juice. Instead I bought NAKED juices ‘green machine’ at gas stations along the way. except for that one gas station that didn’t carry any NAKED products…or any healthy drinks AT ALL (well, besides water) for that matter. no thank you gas station. you don’t rock. but really, it was easy! even when we stopped to get the kids dinner at In -N- Out. Oooo the smell. Oooo it smelled goood. But I really wasn’t tempted. I was ready to DO THIS THING.

so day 6 it is. I think my stomach is shrinking. yesterday I only had three juices and I wasn’t hungry at all. what what! Oh- and lbs lost. I am sure everyone is dying to know…..7. so far. I am not doing this to lose weight but that is an added bonus that I think I will go ahead and accept with open arms. (‘with arms wide open.’ remember that one? ugh. Creed. ugh.)

A NEW SPACE

we went to IKEA over the weekend. along with the new website and products, I am also redoing my workspace! I feel silly calling it a studio since it is no more than half of our extra bedroom….but I am SOHAPPY about the changes. it is beautiful. once the transformation is complete I will post some photos. of course I forgot to take the ‘before’ photo even though I kept saying in my head ‘don’t forget to take before photos. don’t forget to take before photos.’ it was pretty horrendous before. you’ll just have to trust me on that. :)

JUICE

over the weekend i started an impromptu juice fast with the husby after watching the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Have you seen it? Well, it was pretty inspiring so to costco and trader joes we went and picked up a juicer and produce.

I am currently on day 3.

It’s been good! I really love fresh juice more than your average person, and so, it’s been easy! I lost 5lbs in the first two days. we will see if that continues. this initial loss is all water weight.

HARD AT WORK

today was intense. working from home with two toddlers can take you to corners of the universe you never dreamt you’d see. sometimes in a good way.       ……..sometimes in a bad way. it will teach you patience you never thought you had. it will teach you  multitasking skills that only God could best you on. it will make you sleep very. VERY. well at night.

Regardless of the challenge, today I got a lot done and that means this little site I have been working on should be up and running soon! well, if you consider a month soon. but believe me, in these working conditions, a month is a victory.

OBSESSION

Gotye: Somebody that I used to know. play. repeat. play. repeat. repeat. repeat.

…and the photo of the day was taken at target. bunny got to chill in the front seat.

INSPIRED

so I am in the middle of a complete love affair with blogs and have been for the past two years. blogs for cooking, blogs for interior design, blogs for moms, blogs for anthropolgie (that’s the store, not the subject people. maybe I shouldn’t have said that so you think I am some sort of academic.). inspiration abounds everywhere you look. and pinterest….OH PINTEREST, how do you manage to waste an entire hour of mine, when it only feels like two minutes? you can find my time waste project here. or via the link on the side of the page ———>

here are some photo’s that inspire me:

amazing weddings (via welovepictures)

sweet details.

beautiful clothes. to me this is the skirt of the century. (via koo de ker)

lovely homes

amazing flowers (via lovelornunicorn)

amazing food

…ok. let me explain. i LOVEFOOD. seriously, i do! all kinds. but nothing will ever beat some good mexican food and a margarita. to tell you the truth, fresh chips and salsa are probably my favorite food. i know what you’re thinking: that’s an appetizer silly. and to that i say: I KNOW AND WHO CARES CAUSE THIS SHAZ IS GOOOOOD.

and my final and biggest inspiration: the raddest kids on the planet….ok, ok. i’m biased.

out!

HELLO WORLD

so this is the inaugural post of the wish blog. hopefully no spelling mistakes are found and I don’t embarrass myself completely. it’s possible. i’m not going to go all out and tell you my life story until this point. let’s face it, no one wants that. but I will say this:

i have a knack for matching people with their celebrity twin (everyone reminds me of someone.). i am bad at math, but good at remembering numbers. tell me your name and i’ll forget it in a second. but tell me your birthday and that will stick. ‘what was your name again? oh that’s right! Mary! May 3rd!’. ok i don’t really say that. that’s not how you make friends.

i love style, clothes, music, equestrian anything and most of all: my family. i could eat mexican food every day of my life and that WILL be my last meal if I get to choose (which, hopefully I won’t because wouldn’t that mean I was in prison?). i love the rain but that might be because where I live IT.NEVER.RAINS. we are talking like 3 days a year, people. and to put a rotten cherry on top, those three days a year it rains, it lasts for maybe 5 minutes. i am forced to wait for the ‘once every 4 years’ hour long thunder storm. they never last long enough for me.

that’s more than enough for now. enjoy the blog. and enjoy Wish Design Shop! stop by every once in awhile to see what’s up.

ok dudes. I’m out.
